Do you see Matt Hardy having a Main-Event future?

No. I think his best chances to be main-event was the Edge feud then maybe his feud with Jeff. I see his future being similar to Kanes role, a reliable performer just below the main-event scene.

And there is nothing wrong with that kind of role. Some guys are just a cut below the top guys, and Matt is one of them. He'll still make a good living, maybe have a couple transitional reigns, but he's not someone you build a company or brand around, no matter how much people want that.

The only belt Matt will wear will be the one on his jeans or suit pants

He's a midcarder for life, he makes about $100k or so a year, i'm more than sure he's accepted his place at the office

I think Matt still has plenty of years left in him and is slowly turning out to be one of the top faces on Smackdown, in my opinion (a Matt Hardy mark) I can see him with a title run at some point (i hope :D )

If the creative team gives him a way to do so.

Exactly, Matt Hardy is the new Kane. :kane:

Matt Hardy's had a great career, he was apart of one of the greatest tag teams of all time, a star of the classic Tables, Ladders & Chairs matches, has a bit of a cult following from his Mattitude Verison 1 days, was invloved in the feud of 2005 with Edge and has even fought in the main event a few times over the years. Not to mention his United States, Cruserweight, ECW and countless Tag Team Championship regins.

Hardy is a soild all around mid-card preformer. He's the type of guy that will have a steady income with WWE for a long time if he just does his job and help get over the future main eventers. Just look at the last few months, WWE's used him to make CM Punk, Eric Escobar and Batista look strong. He'll do fine.

The only way I see him getting higher than his current status and climb the ladder a bit more is if Jeff Hardy, Lita or Edge returns and get invloved in a story with him.

^The flaw here is that at this point, an Undertaker/Kane HIAC match at WM26 isn't a 60 dollar main event. Comparing this to the likelyhood of a Cena match?

It ain't the same ballpark, it ain't the same league, it ain't even the same fvckin' sport.

I think the WWE has looked at him a few times as a possibility but decided against having him be one of their main guys. I think the reason may be that he's not good on the mic. He had the US title and ECW title which can be used for stepping stones to the main event picture. He had the feud with Jeff. He had the feud with Edge. These things could have really helped him get to the main event picture but they didn't get him there. I think those were his chances and they didn't work out.
Like some people above said, I think he will have a good career as a midcarder and that's it. He'll get spots on PPVs and help work with younger talent while getting a good paycheck.

Matt Hardy's future:

At best : Kane after the mask

At worst: Sho Funaki over the last 8 years

Most likely: Hardcore Holly in the last 5 years.

He probably won't be released. Matt Hardy's only chance to be a World Champion or key guy is to wind up playing for TNA. He would thrive there as the Hardy that TNA built into a main eventer. In WWE he's just the brother of that guy that did a lot of drugs, had a lot of opportunities, and blew it.

VENOM, i like what ur saying about the lita edge jeff return. But i posted an idea before about a massive brawl on smackdown with cm punk and matt after cm punk beats crap out of scott armstrong. If ya dont like this then where are we goin with these 2. Punk is in a fatal 4 way match for the title but goes to scott armstrong's level??? matt is having a hell of a fued with jeff and fights who? keep them both occupied feud each other. Also i like to see a kane vs undertaker/ face turn. Kane helps his bro out in the 3 way dance or shoot him in the foot. this makes a match at tlc which kane wins. Kane eliminates taker in rumble and continues rivalry. taker is about to pin somebody at elimination chamber before broken up by kane who eliminates taker then. This creates a whole kane vs taker hell in a cell match at WM 26 there's your 60 dollar main event.

I think the only reason CM Punk is feuding with referee Scott Armstrong right now is too kept heel heat. WWE can see that there is nowhere for Punk to feud with in the main event [Undertaker, Jericho, Batista, Myisterio are all busy] So instead of dropping him to the midcard level and having him feud with someone like Matt Hardy like you said. There contiuning to devlop his character. Feuding with a referee isn't really degradding, it's just there to show how annoying and how much of a prick CM Punk is.

WWE could have easily given him a feud with Matt Hardy, or Morrison, or Finlay or anyone for that matter. But they'd rather just let him build his gimmick and character, until they have a good main event feud for him.

As for your other thing, Kane isn't a main eventer. He just can't draw fans or money. He's simply a great "go-to-guy." Who can put on a decent show when need be. Over the past few years, Kane has gone from a main event feud with Edge, to fighting Chavo Guererro on ECW, to filling up spaces in Money in the Bank, to reuniting with Undertaker, to losing to guys like Finlay and Dolph Ziggler.

Kane is just a good "go-to-guy" and a World Championship Match with Undertaker in Hell in the Cell would be a bad idea.

First of all, WWE has just had a all Hell in the Cell pay per view. So using that match at WrestleMania, kinda defeats the purpose of the PPV. Secondly, Kane just isn't big enough for a WrestleMania main event. Not to mention, Undertaker should be used for bigger and better things at WrestleMania than just a reharsh of his Kane feud.

WWE call all there preformers Superstars, but there's a short list of actual "Superstars" in the WWE. Over the years we've seen the Golden Age of Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Macho Man Randy Savage. Next Generation had Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels pretty much. Attitude Era you had Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Mr McMahon, Mick Foley and D-Generation X. And now you've got John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Micheals and maybe Randy Orton.

But the one man who's been looming in the background of nearly all those generations is The Phenom. Undertaker is quite possibly the biggest name in the WWE.

So he should be put in a Mania Match with someone like John Cena. A huge star simlar to last year with HBK. Not a match with midcarder Kane.

Wasn't the initial plan for it to be Taker-Kane at WM last year but one of the script staff left and plans were sneaked out?

With regards Matt Hardy, I pine for a time when you have wrestlers who don't capture the top belts. It keeps the belts that bit more precious and unattainable. A dozen yers ago the likes of Mysterio would have been nowhere near the world straps, look at the guys who never wore WWE world titles from then, Perfect, Rude, Steamboat, Bigelow, DiBiase. I'm not saying they weren't deserving, and I know the belts changed hands far less frequently but its by no means a failure as a wrestler to not win the top strap, which is what Matt Hardy is kind of being painted as.
