Has anyone seen it ? I saw it yesterday and hell it's one of the most fvcked up movie I've ever seen. I loved it. Brad Pitt shows once again he's a real actor. The story is crazy, but in a way, perfect. And it is definitely very funny. I loved how Tarantino subtly used cliché to make fun of Americans, French, British and Germans. I also liked that for once, in a movie, people actually talk in their mother tongue : you won't see two germans or two french talking in english, not like in Walkyrie (which was bad anyway).
The movie is a bit long, but it definitely worth a viewing.

And if that were the case then why could he not have just said 'F*ck You' in English instead? why not? because it would take away from the realism of the movie?

It gives credibility to the characters. In Walkyrie, seeing english and american actors talking in english and pretending to be germans politicians, soldiers and officers was ridiculous. It doesn't hurt the credibility of the movie, but it definitely hurts the credibility of the characters.
I personnaly don't care about subtitles...you just need to make an effort, it's not as if 6 billions of people had english as their mothertongue, and that's something people tend to forget...

The point is that the movie itself is an English language movie... so if someone is going to watch it, all the dialogs should be in english... even when you have two characters who are non native english speakers, when they should talk they should talk in english...
and dude, i 'get' that english is not the first language of the 6 billion+ population... but i am not talking about the entire 6 billion+ here, i am just talking about a very small portion of it... that small portion which goes to watch a movie, in whichever language... see, if some guy in india goes for a Bollywood film he'd except that movie to be in Hindi, even when you have two Frenchmen on screen he'd still except them to talk to each other in Hindi or atleast have their French dialog dubbed over in the local language, which is a very reasonable expectation because he went in to watch an indian film and not a bilingual buffet of mixed up linguistic cuisine!
And that's what i am saying, that when i go in to watch an english movie i except it to be in English... so if there is a scene between two Germans in World War 2 germany or two Chinese dudes in ancient china then i except that they should speak to each other in English... if 'they' feel it takes away too much from the character's credibility then fine, give them an accent or whatever...

No need to argue, we won't agree.

I haven't seen this yet, but I am looking forward to it. Tarantino is an old movie buff, like myself, and I've read this film pays homage to many of the old war films that have come before. Even the title comes from a 1978 film (but spelled differently, on purpose). The reviews have all been pretty positive, for the most part.
