dude this rules....!!
I just hope they look like the oldschool transformers. I would hate to see megatron as a as harley, or Prime as a tank
I also hope Hotrod is in this

Yes that would be a nightmare... "Transformers: RiceRockets in Disguise"
And I just had a nasty visual of what would happen if they tried to pimp Soundwave's ride. Y'know slapping some rims on the Energon Cubes he makes?

I hear that the original voice actor of Optimus Prime will reprise his role here.

As you can see by my screen name I am a Transformers mark. But What its the deal with all of the 80's cartoon's making it to the big screen. Excuse me if i am not enthused but, my heart was crushed From the Hulk and the Punisher movies so excuse me if I am cynical. Half of these kids don't even know The original Transformers because they were not born till 88 or 89.
p.s. Beast Wars is the ish! I think it is better than the original "Robots in Disguise".

What are you talking about? The new Punisher was fan-freaking-tastic. It stuck to the original story line, had good acting (Plus an appearance by Kevin Nash), and had good action scenes.

there's been different version of transformers' series since the first one in the 80's. judging by the preview you won't really need to be schooled in the history to enjoy the movie. and if you think there's been enough revival of old school comics then you'll hate the fact that within the next 4 years we'll have movies of captain america, iron man, thor, and possibly aquaman.

well I must thats not bad but
the autobots r lacking in numbers. it maybe to early (if they r gonna do a sequal) but i think you need Hot rod, ultra magnus, grimlock
the bad guys r ok
but where is soundwave!!!!!!!!! hes a staple of transformers & laser beak

Frankly I have no idea where Soundwave is there's a theory over on the ANN forums that he's going to be known as Frenzy because Bay said no to ANY size changing so if it's Frenzy that means he'll be about human-size
there's also a rumor that Soundwave will be in the sequal so they can think up a better alternate mode for him and another is that they aren't useing him because the toy company or something that has the rights to him wanted him to be a some sort of communication device but Bay nixed that because again he didn't want size changing

a Speed Racer movie while it would be terrible to watch would be funny as hell just to see how the actors could try acting with Speed Racer's style of speach

optimus prime looking like a 2000 model kenworth is so cool. as far a smegatron... you know when they transform into robot you could still tell what it transformed from, but with megatron - the robot looks mean but he doesn't look like he transforms into any shape. fighter jet? someone show me.

man I dont know I was looking at some of the pics of these guys and I dont know if I like it or not. Prime looks ok but why not just make em look as old school as they can!!!!!
also from the previews it looks like there is way way too much human involvement. I mean hello the transformers are the main characters I dont care about any humans in the film!!!
now onto the comic movie thing
I think its great in fact I dont understand why DC has not made more comic movies, they have some the best heros of all time, I mean with the Flash and green lantern right there is like 6 films that could be done
green arrow as well would be great I mean hell I would say hes just as cool as daredevil! (not bashing daredevil)
The Atom is also another hero that I think would make a hell of movie
and lest not forget a real easy one is NIGHTWING....

there's a few new pics of the movie on yahoo.com. the one with optimus swinging a punch looks wicked cool.
...
and for anyone who hasn't read yet, i suggest you invest in the 4 transformers movie prequel comics. i've gotten the first 2 right now. good short reads. if you want to know why bumblebee will be interacting with songs, then read the comics. one is released each month - february, march, april, and may. then in june a separate 4 part comic. i think it's the entire movie split into 4 comic parts.
then in july... the new avengers & transformers comic is released. captain america side by side with optimus prime!!! that's got to be cool.

^^^yeah but i guess for the 'captain america' series. this series is before the time the captain dies. that's why you shouldn't believe marvel when they 'kill' anyone.

there's an exclusive trailer just released on yahoo.com. best part: when optimus prime transforms you can hear the classic 'wah wah wah wah' sound. there's different scenes in the shrek 3 version with bumblebee being chased by barricade. i've bought all 4 volumes of the prequel comics and they're a great little read. can ewait for the 4 movie adaptation comics coming in june... and then in july... not only the transformers movie is released... but the new avengers/transformers comics.captain america and wolverine teaming up with optimus prime and bumblebee among others to face the team of the decepticons and dr. doom.

I never really got into the old school Transformers but I loved the updates and I marked out every time I watched the spin-off in Beast Wars. This movie should be good I liked the scene where the military base was being invaded.

Well, from what I know (seeing that you are 19) the original Transformers were from a part era of us, so probably it wasn't what we expected. But I LOVED the Beast Wars, even though I never got to see the series in continuation, stupid TV imports...

Yeah i'll go to see it, but the new neo-animation sh!t pisses me off. THe first movie (from 1986) might be the best animated series movie ever. I mean for christ's sake they freakin' KILL characters off which is unheard of. Imagine if they had the teletubbies and tinky winky gets iced.... this really had better not suck. If it does, I go into kill mode.

Um, I thought this was beyond awful. It basically had every single thing in it that I hate about pop-movies today. It pissed me off even more because this was IT for me as a kid...
First off, half the characters were the wrong vehicles.
Second, the acting was so bad......well, put it this way, if I had to give an award for acting, I'd give 2 Fast 2 Furious and award over this. I wasn't expecting this to be super acting. I was expecting it not to be so bad I was boarderline embarrassed to be seeing the movie.
Third, the Decepticons, who had TONS of personality in the cartoons and the comic books, had zero. THey might as well have just been sh!t to blow up. Honestly, no development.
There was some cute tributes though. The part where bumblebee (who in this is a mustang, not a beetle) slams his door on a beetle was a nice shout out to the original car. The fight at Hoover Dam was definately a little mini-tribute to the first big fight the transformers ever had on earth.
Also ironic... in the first movie, Jazz in like the ONLY guy (minus the Dinobots) from teh first season that lives through the movie. He's the only one to die in this one.
It's a fun action flick if all you care about is crap blowing up but honestly, as a guy who REALLY grew up (not wished) on this stuff, I thought the movie was a freakin' abortion.
Let's not even get into the beyond forced love story, product placement up the yin yang, and incredibly forced funny scenes.....Again, if you don't care much for acting, good characters or, well, anything other than special effects, you'll love this.
