Ive never been a big fan of london and it seems like hes lost his way since leaving WWE and when i read that he had "signed for tna" i was happy for him but now hes injuryed i think he will just float around the indies. Now people we must wait for David aka Biggest Paul London Mark to have his say....

All right, here we go -
First of all, awesome spelling and grammar! I'm going to try and respond to your points. If I miss any then it is probably because I couldn't decipher what you meant. Second of all, yes you have contributed many very good ideas for my column as well as saving my a.ss with the opening of ECW when my feed was messed up. You know I really appreciate all that, but it is irrelevant for this conversation. I only say this because I don't feel like going through the trouble of rolling my eyes if saying those two things is your response to my forthcoming points.
***Note***
I'm not going to address anything regarding TNA. You can find all the information regarding his status on WrestleView's front page. I know for a fact that those reports are incredibly accurate. I will however discuss this video as well as what he is doing in PWG to answer the question of what "London is up to".
First, let's conquer the "London was Drunk" comment. Crelly, you have absolutely no way of knowing whether or not he was intoxicated nor do any of us. No reason to sling mud for the heck of it. I'm not for a second going to pretend to know that he doesn't drink, he very well may. That being said I believe he would be a responsible drunk and not cut promos or God forbid wrestle while drunk. I'm not spewing this because of my London obsession in some desire to make him seem perfect. His brother was killed in 1996 by a drunk driver. I would imagine that most families affected by having relatives/friends killed by a drunk driver makes you a bit more cautious about such things.
If I'm going to venture a guess however, I would cede to the fact that London may very well be in high during that promo. He has not kept his usage of marijuana private and you can find many interviews online of him talking about getting high. I'm not condoning this behavior. It's not something I do, and moreover it is illegal. I do know however that he has made the decision that marijuana is a better way to deal with the grind of wrestling instead of downing large quantities of alcohol, pain killers and Soma. London has stated that he is fortunate to not have an addiction of that sort. He made sure to not let himself get sucked into that aspect of the business, so kudos to him. I'm actually quite back and forth on how I think Professional Wrestling should deal with those two groups [painkillers & Soma v. marijuana]. I don't know if there is a perfect solution, but that's a whole other topic for another day. Let me get back to the PWG video.
I know that I don't have to explain how the mechanics of the wrestling business work to you Crelly. People play characters and gimmicks, of which their promos should reflect those characters. By your standards someone watching an old Mankind video should assume he is on LSD or some other mind warping drug. The list of such examples can go on and on, but that's unnecessary as I know you understand the concept of gimmicks.
But David! How can you defend London?!?!? That promo makes no sense, he was just screwing around!!
I'd ask if you knew what London's character was in PWG, but I'm about 99% sure that you don't. Ha, I may be one of only a handful that bothered to check it out. Keeping the concept of a gimmick in mind. Read the character description that PWG gives of him and uses to establish his gimmick. For some reason the author of this thread choose not to include the description which is found above the promo video on PWG's site. Let's put the video back in context.
Quote:
"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and "Intrepid Traveler" Paul London make up the fifth team to enter Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's DDT4. Not much more needs to be said, but we pay by the word for these write ups, so here goes.
The histories of Bryan Danielson and Paul London, while very similar, highlight two very different paths to greatness in the world of professional wrestling. Both men started their careers at the Texas Wrestling Academy (located in Birmingham, Alabama), and though their paths would not cross in training, after striking out into independent wrestling Danielson and London would find themselves as adversaries on numerous occasions. Both would experience great success earlier this decade, but that is where the similarities end.
Danielson redoubled his efforts into refining his abilities in the art of professional wrestling, traveling the world to learn from the masters of the craft, and apply those techniques to his own. London, a life-long fan of the serialized comic strip Calvin & Hobbes, followed in the footsteps of interplanetary explorer extraordinaire Spaceman Spiff and traveled to the far reaches of the galaxy on a five-year mission. Not much is know about London's travels in outer space, but it was clear that when he returned he was suffering from some form of "space madness," leaving only a precious few that could communicate with him.
Luckily, two individuals that can speak to London are part of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla locker room: former rival "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and World Champion Chris Hero. Overjoyed with the prospect of communicating with humans once again, London formed an immediate bond with both men. At One Hundred, that bond proved useful as London and Danielson helped Chris Hero avoid catastrophe at the hands of Scott Lost and Joey Ryan, The Dynasty.
Now that he has readjusted to Earth's atmosphere, London told the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Board of Directors he would like to rekindle his tag team with his good friend "Brian" and is intent on winning DDT4 to prove the allegations of "space madness" unfounded. When Bryan Danielson was asked if he was aware that London was confusing Danielson with Brian Kendrick, based on the pronunciation of their first names, Danielson said he was willing to put up with "a little space madness" in order to win the tournament.
^^That's a solid description on PWG's own site of his character and gimmick.
Let's be real here. I CANNOT say that London isn't drunk in this promo. I CANNOT say that London isn't high. But more importantly, you have no legitimate way of knowing whether or not he IS high or drunk. Look, if he is - then I DO NOT condone it. I'll even go as far as that I'd look down on such behavior.
The bottom line is that we don't know. Be that as it may, if you watch the promo with the context preserved, I believe that the promo is true to his PWG character. That's called doing your job.
So just to summarize before you come in and quote just part of what I said to make a point and disregard mine:
-London MAY be high or drunk BUT
-Neither of us know whether or not he WAS high/drunk AND
-This promo fits his PWG character
Now THAT'S a wrap.
