I feel the other thread was hijacked, so might as well move it and make it an open topic.

Are they bad games? No.
What are you talking about? Of course they're not bad games - Thats why they're on my list of games to buy. (1)
OneManX wrote:
Who cares WHERE they came from, if the game is good, then the game is good.
Yeah, you don't mind remakes one bit, do you? Oh, wait...
OneManX wrote:
IMO, but really, I just dont like remakes, in that time it took to remake an old game, they could of made an entirely NEW game.

Then again, I'm NEVER a fan of remakes, it seems like a wasted game.

Dont toss out the originality card, and then take Nintendo's side, b/c they are the KINGS of beating a dead horse.
Hmmm? What are you blithering about? You asked me the following:
OneManX wrote:
Umm... what ports and remakes are u talking about? B/c we might be having a dispute what qualifies as such.
Too which I gave you an answer. If you didn't want an answer, you shouldn't have asked the question. (3)

The PSP has a small library (compared to nintendo), but when it comes to portable gaming... it doesnt really matter, because you are only gonna have 1-2 on you at a time. Factor in the Playstation store and you might have 4-5 games on you at a time.
Says you. I have a two hour commute to and from work each day, so that's a solid 10 hours per week minimum portable gaming for me. I would complete the games I listed in a couple of months - not that that's going to stop me from buying one, but I have 50 games on the DS and I still don't have everything I want. (4)

IMO,I think what the PSP offers is fine, they have a nice mix of original titles and remakes and ports, again something that handhelds are notorious for...
It doesn't. It has an unacceptably low number of games, a point that unbiased games journos have been making time and again over the past few years. Its saving grace for many, and the reason the *hardware* sales are so high is that many people buy it for homebrew. (5)

I have no gripe against the DS, but if i had to put out a flaw it is that a lot of the DS games are bad, poorly made, get rich quick games (same as the Wii)
Just like the nes and the snes and the playstation and the playstation 2. the most popular console of its generation always gets the most crap, but it also tends to get far more decent games then the competition. For every good game the PSP has, there's at least 5 good ds games. (6)

On my PSP I have like 5 games (GTA Vice City Stories, God of War: Chains of Olympus, SOCOM: Fire Team Bravo 2, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, and Street Fighter Alpha) I have Echochrome and Ghost and Goblins from the PSN as well as a bunch of MP3 and movies I have converted to my PSP. So, for me, the PSP is good if not great. I have a good pool of games to play from and I have other things to occupy my time.
Good for you. Do I care? Good heavens no. After 4 years on the market, the PSP finally has *just* enough games to my taste for me to justify buying one. Why you feel the need to let me know how great you find it is beyond me. Is it to convince me? It can't be as I've already made clear I'm buying one. Is it to convince yourself that you didn't make a crappy purchase? I neither know nor care. You asked me a question which I answered, and then you said your own question didn't even matter and your final party trick was to disagree with yourself in the space of a couple of posts, all of which leads me to conclude that you haven't quite grasped the subtle art of following the thread of a discussion. Or the art of thought for that matter. (7)
Instead of block quoting and all that nonsensce, just follow the numbers.
1. You went on about the PSPs has ports and remakes and all that junk, but that had nothing to do with the QUALITY of the game. A good game's a good game. You can't argue against it, just becuase it is a rehash doesnt make it bad
2. In being objective, like reviewing them... the games aren't bad, I'd personally prefer a company to make a new game, but I can't argue about the quality of the game. There're a few games, I'd mark out for a remake of, very few... but if I have to review them, then... I judge on a fair plane and more times than not, the games are very good.
To put another spin on it, I hate racing games, but I know Forza is one of the best racing games out.
3. I respect your answer, the thing is, it is based off YOUR picks, and not on what is acutally there. There are more newer games than remakes and ports on the PSP.
4. Again that is your personal experience, you obviously have more time in invest in your handheld than I do. As stated in a later statement from me, I use my PSP for other things besides playing games (MP3s and video playback). It depends on what I want to do at the time. When I go on break... I might play a game, or listen to some music, so I obvioucly see no point in owning a bunch of titles, when I'm really gonna have at the most 5 in my weekly rotation.
And I obviously can't play on my commute... I drive.
5. Again the library is FULL of games that are worth playing, just because a number of them dont tickle YOUR fancy. And alot of those claims were made, 06-07 when the PSP had no notable games, but top notch titles are coming out or that are out already: GoW: CoO, SOCOM: FTB 2, Logan's Shadow 2, Resistance: Retribution, Little Big Planet (PSP), Crisis Core, Patapon, Secret Agent Clank, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, Wipeout Pulse, Midnight Club: LA Remix, Phantasy Star, Monster Hunter, Star Ocean.
That has changed now, the PSP has games that are worth buying.
6. Again, a flaw... just like the Wii the console gets weighted down with... well, crap games. Is it bad... sort of... is it console breaking... no. I never said it was.
7. When you saw, Sony, something had to click in your head that the PSP was going to build up as more than just a handheld console. And it is.
MP3 Playback
Video Playback
USB Camera Functionality
Skype (Internet Phone)
Internet Functionality (Playstation Store)and Wi-Fi enabled
GPS Compatible.
A lot of articles that have come out in '08 have basically described the PSP as a multimedia device and that what it is, while it doesnt have the games, it MORE than makes up for it in just functionality. I can do more with my PSP, than with a DS. That is why I wanted one, I wanted something MORE than just another handheld console, if I wanted that, I'd stick with my GBA SP.
I am no convincing myself I made a good purchase, I KNOW I made one, becuase I knew what I was getting before I opened the damn box.
