In terms of individual performances, there are quite a few.
I still love the Umaga Royal Rumble '07 match. I know some people have gotten a little wishy washy on it over the years, but still, its his best match. Pretty much all the things that make Cena so good are in the match: The facial expressions, the comebacks, the desperation, the selling.... even little things like Cena lifting the stairs above his head and making it seem like its the toughest thing in the world to do... just so many great things in that match. The New Year's Revolution match is another goodie from Cena's standpoint.
He's had lots of good ones. The Smackdown match with Big Show earlier this year is up there for me. The Breaking Point match with Orton is there for me. The No Way Out match with Orton is up there. He's pretty much a one-man show in the hour-long HBK match. He looked like a magician against Khali in their Judgement Day match. There's just a ton. But the Umaga match at the Royal Rumble is kind of that match that really epitomizes all that makes John Cena so great.

I really liked his match with Jericho back in 05. His hour match with HBK was very good as well one of my favorites

Overall, I would say his matchup with Umaga, for the reasons Towney mentioned. I certainly can't say it any better, so won't try. I do agree with Coco, the Iron Man match with Michaels is certainly very memorable, and his series recently with Orton had a few very high quality matches.

There's a crap load.
Out of all his big matches that haven't been mentioned, I'd rank Cena-Orton from Summerslam 07 and 09, Cena-Michaels from WM 23, Cena-Batista from Summerslam 08 and the surprisingly good Cena-Lashley from the Great American Bash 07, right at the top.

It seems like you take shots at him every chance you get & you never give him credit for anything. To say that Cena was a one man show in that Iron man match is insane. They both put on a great performance in that match. Anyway back on subject, I agree that his match with Umaga is prolly his best performance to date followed closely by his 1HR long match with HBK. Some others I'd like to point as well is his RAW match with Beniot, his match with Lashley at the GAB. Just about everything with Orton is great, his match TLC match at UF against Edge was pretty good as well. All his stuff with The Big Show & Y2J is always good and so is his stuff with HHH. One match that I'd also like to point out as well is his match with RVD at ONS, maybe not a classic by any stretch but a good performance by Cena in which kinda wrestled the match as a heel and pretty much dominated the control segments something we don't see a lot of out of Cena. Cena has a great resume for a guy who can't wrestle.

There really is a lot to choose from. I'm not a big fan of hour long matches, but his match with HBK in England I believe, really stands out for me. Of course, the Umaga match, and getting good matches out of Lashley and Khali.

DUH! I'd have to agree with Towney, that LMS match vs Umaga was AMAZING. I think the best part about the match for me personally was NOT seeing any of that stupid cartoonish selling that Umaga does some times. Cena managed to make Umaga look like an absolute beast the entire time throughout the match. A few of my personal favorites not mentioned... Unforgiven 2006 Toronto, ON Canada TLC match vs Edge If Cena loses he goes to Smackdown(sound familar?) I don't know whether it was by design or not, but how f*cking lucky was WWE for getting Summerslam in Boston, and Unforgiven in Toronto? I don't think it was the match itself that did it for me. I think it was maybe Edge crying at the during the in-ring intros, or Cena walking out with the strap over his back with people throwing wather and shit at him. Maybe it's just because I'm a total Edge mark? I also LOVED the LMS match vs Edge at Backlash. Why the hell didn't they do this at 'Mania? Were they that desperate to get Show on the card?

This thread implies that Cena's had good matches. It is therefore a thread full of misconceptions and delusions, and should be closed immediately before people get led to believe a lie.

Yeah, I used to hate Cena too, started somewhere in early 2006 or so. And I get tired of just sheer Cena bashing. But after the Umaga and Khali programs in early 2007, I started coming around, and the WM build and program with Shawn Michaels did a world of good for him. Their 45 minute London match was insane, such a great performance from both guys. He became a full blown ring general during that time. Sure, I don't care for how he falls back with the one leg beneath him, and the flying shoulder block, along with the scoop side slam or whatever that is prior to the 5 Knuckle Shuffle, but as a character I think he's come SOOO far in the ring and as a performer.
So much that I hate it when he's not champion, not because I dig him that much, but because it just fits him. John Cena defending the title is much more entertaining, to me, than when he's on the title hunt. Another year plus reign, please.
Just start feeding him new people to ward off.

Get over it man. Cena is a great entertainer and has had plenty of great matches such as his series with Randy Orton where I couldn't name one match that was bad. He's had some great matches with Shawn Michaels (e.g Wrestlemania 23 and their hour long match on Raw). He has some good matches with Edge also (the TLC match really stood out). The guy has even pulled good matches out of JBL, (Judgement Day 05) Bobby Lashly (GAB 07) and The Great Khali (Judgement Day and ONS 2007.) So to suggest that he hasn't had any good matches is quite ignorant.

By 'one man show' I pretty much meant that he was good enough for both guys to make it a good match. On an individual performance level, Cena was unreal that night. Michaels carried his load, too. I just think Cena really out-shone him. That's not a knock on Shawn as much as it is a reflection of, IMO, how good Cena was in that match. As for Michaels, he just doesn't do it for me anymore if he ever did. Its not to say he can't have good matches, because he's had plenty of good matches. I just find him to be a guy who works two formulas that don't really work for him or his opponents. I've gone into it kind of ad naseum in the past, so I'll save everyone the beating of dead horses, but that's what it comes down to. That being said, my lean-low opinion of Michaels as a wrestler doesn't really effect my opinion of his matches with Cena, where I thought he was pretty good. He was pretty darn good in the 50 minute Raw match, too... Cena was just better. Again, not a knock on Michaels, but more of a reflection on how strong Cena was there. One of those goodies that got lost in the shuffle, IMO. He had a fun mini-program with Eddie Guererro as well. The FIRST Kurt Angle match... At No Mercy '03.. I haven't seen in ages. I remember liking it a lot. THe Dupree US title matches are fun while the BOoker T stuff is either REALLY good or REALLY bad.

pretty much every match worth mentioning has been mentioned... so i'll just list a couple of my favorites... Versus Umaga @ Royal Rumble, Orton @ Summerslam (both '07), and I also would put his back to back matches w/ HBK (mania & hour long affair on RAW) along w/ his Lashley match (GAB 07) and Batista (SS 08)!! His JBL I quit match, the Khali match, and taking on HHH (@ mania) are all very strong matches, which I'd give A LOT of credit to Cena in those matches. Even his early series w/ Jericho is very good... The early Cena stuff is highlighted for me by his matches w/ Lesnar, Taker, and Angle... and I liked his quasi-feud w/ Eddie quite a bit too!!

Umaga, Roya Rumble 2007.
I thought his Falls Count Anywhere Match with Khali was horrible. The one from the previous month was better by a country mile.

His match with HHH at Mania 22 and his TLC with Edge at Unforgiven 2006 come to mind.
His RR match with Umaga was awesome too, as was his match with HBK in Manchester.
OH! And one I don't think anyone has brought up yet, his match with Big Show at Mania 20! One of the best opening matches of all time IMO and seeing him FU Show (I think for the very first time) was just awesome. That match really put Cena over imo.

I believe the first (televised, might have had a few at house shows, dark matches etc) Big Show FU came in the opening match at Survivor Series '03 in Dallas. I was there, and the pop was huge. It was really the first big face jump for Cena on Team Angle that night, and winning the traditional Survivor Series match with that FU on the Big Show nailed it for him. (Although Benoit might have gotten the pin, I can't remember now, I need to watch that match again.)
Six years and a billion 5 Knuckle Shuffles later and we're still talking about him. This guy must REALLY suck.

Cena has always been great in "Great" match as Towney said once! I discovered Cena in his "Quit match"match against JBL and it may be the match that give him respect in the looker room! His feud with Renee Dupree was also very pleasant to see. All Cena's feud, Big rivalry with Edge or Orton was magnifiscent! Personnally with his match with Umaga I may remember Wrestlemania 2005 with HHH, The TLC match against Edge in Unforgiven 2006, His SummerSlam match 2007 with Randy Orton and his last fights "I quit match" and "Iron man match" at Bragging Rights. I prefers also Cena defending his belt than hunting for it! Because it's fits Cena, is part of his character.! A very good record for a man who cannot wrestle as said somebody and that show me that John Cena nowadays is not going down as said some Cena's morons haters!
